Kathmandu – Nagarkot Hiking is all about hiking from the Kathmandu city to Nagarkot. This easy hiking trail offers astounding views of local cultures and beautiful mountain peaks. This hiking route is suitable for all aged people and for any level of hikers from beginners to professionals. Panoramic views of Nepalese mountains such as the Everest, Langtang, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri can be enjoyed throughout the trek.

The hike starts from Kathmandu where a wide range of beautiful geographical formations and cultures can be observed. The path through a constant fluctuation of elevations and less dense forests leads the way to Nagarkot. The path from Kathmandu to Nagarkot offers astounding views of silvery snow-capped mountains depending upon the weather conditions. If the weather conditions are favourable, these views seem more clearly and seem to form a different dimension.

Nagarkot is famous for wide spectacular views of natural beauties and landscape views of the lowlands. Besides, the spot is precisely popular for watching sunrise in the early morning and sunset in the late evening. The place comprises of wide options of lodges and hotels for tourists who want to spend night in the place and again enjoy the beautiful spot in the early next day. Nagarkot is 3 hours of drive away from the Kathmandu Valley.

Day to Day Itinerary Expand/Collapse All

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport [1,338m/4,389ft] and transfer to hotel

After an early breakfast we drive to Sankhu [1,637m/5,370ft] which is a small town accessed by 40 minutes of drive. Hike from Sankhu for 4 hours to reach Nagarkot [1,905m/6,250ft]. You are provided with a welcome drink from the hotel and then lunch. Rest at hotel for an hour then go for Nagarkot village walk. Hotel overnight

Wake up early in the morning to view sunrise from Nagarkot tower along with magnificent views of Himalayan range. Drive back to hotel in the evening and stay overnight
