The Nar-Phu Valley Trek takes you through the wonders of the Nar-Phu Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in Nepal. The local inhabitants and the beauties of this valley are just amazing to watch. This trek is divided into 3 nights of stay in the Kathmandu Valley, 6 days of trekking after that and 2 nights of stay in Pokhara in the end with total days of 12. This classic trek allows accessing the mountain ranges there in limited time period and without elevating to extreme altitudes.
Nar-Phu Valley Trek is an adventurous one among all the trekking routes of Annapurna Range. This trek takes you through challenging passes like Kangla Pass that resides at an altitude of 5200m. This point is the highest access point of the current trek. From here, magnificent views of the snow-capped peaks seem heaven. This adventurous trek provides the trekkers an opportunity to explore the hidden treasures of the Nar-Phu Valley.
The valley lies above the forestry line of cultivation in the extreme north of Manang District. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to reach the pass. Today, Nar-Phu valley has about 300 inhabitants whose livelihood depends on the livestock except for the Bhotia people whose pattern of trading is dynamic and change from time to time.
We start the trek by driving 7 hours from Kathmandu to Besishar. Again from there, local jeeps take to Khudi which a hour of long drive. From here, we follow the route of the popular Annapurna Circuit. During the walk you get to view the finest mountain peak while walking on the path of nature. We go through places like Chamche, Bahundada, Dharapani and so on. The trail does not stop until we reach Nar-Phu . We spend a few days exploring this exquisite valley and forward through Kang La pass [5,300m]. After exploring these areas, we trek back to Manang which is a beautiful place in Annapurna region. After that, we cross Thorang Pass [5,416m] and end up in Jomsom. From there we take a flight to Pokhara and finally reach Kathmandu. Before reaching the valley, it’s best to stay in Pokhara for a few days and explore the nature there.
