Gautam Buddha was born roughly 2,500 years ago in Lumbini. The holy site lies in the southern part of the country. He was believed to pave the path of peace and strictly discouraged violence. During his teen age, Gautam Buddha was believed to get lost in search of enlightment through meditation. He meditated under a Pipal tree for months and years without any clothes and remaining hungry until he found himself enlightened. Since then Buddhism followed the path of peace and non-violence.
This trip merely focuses on the holy site of Lumbini and several others Buddhist holy places like Boudha, Soyambhunath and Stupas. Every year followers of Buddhism from several countries like India, China, Thailand, Sri-lanka, Japan, Hongkong and Myanmar come to Nepal to visit the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.
