Sailung Trek is one of the preferred destinations for trekking in the remote regions of the country. The name Sailung has a meaning in it. In Nepali Sai means Hundred and Lung means windy hill. These two words form up together and mean that there are a hundred of other smaller hills around the Sailung Hill. This trekking routed takes you to Thulo Sailung which is the highest access of this trek and is situated at an altitude of [3,100m]. From this point we can have views of high Himalaya ranges from Makalu to Dhaulagiri. Apart from this, the Sailung Trek is the only trekking route that provides views of Terai region from such an altitude. The view of plain Terai from here is breathe taking and awesome to watch. Also a view of the world’s tallest peak Mt. Everest can be enjoyed.
While trekking in Sailung , you walk through high ridges where Tamangs are the major inhabitants of this place. When encountering with them, you can interact and know about the unique cultures and traditions to add more information as a part of the trek.
From the Sailung Hill, panoramic views of snow-capped peaks like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Makalu, Rolwaling Himal Range, Annapurna Himal Range and Ganesh Himal Range can be viewed. The Sailung Trek is not only about viewing Himalaya Ranges.
