Nima Sherpa, a 27-year-old climbing guide, has achieved a remarkable feat by successfully ascending three mountains above 8000 meters in just one week. Hailing from Makalu-4 in Sankhuwasabha, Nima Sherpa accomplished this incredible feat by conquering the world's fifth-highest mountain, Mt. Makalu (8461 m), following his ascent of the world's fourth-highest peak, Mt. Lhotse (8516 m), on May 18. Impressively, Nima had already reached the summit of Mt. Everest on May 17.
According to Rishi Bhandari, the Managing Director of Satori Adventure Pvt Ltd, Nima Sherpa completed both the Everest and Lhotse climbs with the same team, while he joined a different climbing team for his ascent of Makalu. Reflecting on his consecutive climbs, Nima expressed, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I was fortunate to receive it and seized the moment. Not everyone gets such a chance. I was ready to climb again if asked."
This accomplishment marks Nima's seventh successful summit of Mt. Everest, further solidifying his reputation as one of the fastest and most skilled mountaineering guides. Mingma Temba Sherpa, the leader of Satori Expedition, praised Nima's exceptional abilities, stating that while carrying a similar load to others during the ascent from Camp 2 to Camp 4, Nima could complete two trips in the time it took others to finish just one. Furthermore, Nima is capable of climbing to Camp 4 alone and without the need for oxygen support.
Nima Sherpa's journey into the world of mountain climbing commenced 16 years ago when he decided to pursue this profession instead of becoming a lama, as initially intended by his parents. His dedication, skill, and unmatched determination have propelled him to achieve extraordinary heights in the field of mountaineering, earning him well-deserved recognition and admiration.
