Trekking Permits


A trekking permit is required to trek in any part of Nepal. If you want to trek two areas, you will need two permits. Each permit requires details for the route and region. Police check points are set up in some areas so do not venture off the set route unless you carry cigerettes for officers.

A trekking permit is a must to visit restricted areas mentioned below. 

 

Trekking Permit Fees to Restricted Areas: 

The Department of Immigration located at Maitighar issues permits for tourists who intend to trek to restricted part of the country.

**In other trekking region, except the region as mentioned above s.no.1 to 5,the trekking fee is as prescribed by Nepal Government in the notificationpublished in the Nepal Gazette time to time.

Fee can be paid in Nepalese currency:

Notwithstanding any thing contained in serial numbers 1,2,3,4 and 5, the Indiannational can pay the fee in Nepalese currency equivalent to US dollars asmentioned in the same serial numbers.

B) Restricted areas which have been opened for Group Trekking
      The following restricted areas are open only for group trekkers. And a trekking permit will not       be issued to individual trekkers for such areas. The areas and required fees are as follows:

  1. To get a group trekking permit an application form with other relevant documents should be submitted through any registered trekking agency of Nepal.
     
  2. Trekking fee can be paid in Nepalese currency: Notwithstanding anything written in above, the Indian citizen can pay in Nepalese currency equivalent to US Dollars.
