Annapurna Circuit Trek


Thorangla PassThe Annapurna Circuit is almost the favorite pick among the trekkers. The breathtaking and contrasting scenery and colorful Nepali culture makes trekking in the Annapurna Circuit an adventurous and interesting trek.

As the name suggests this trek takes a walk round the Annapurna massif. You will be mesmerized by kaleidoscope scenery of snow capped peaks, crystal clear lakes, turbulent rivers with deep gorges, hot springs and picturesque villages inhabited by simple and friendly local people.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking Itinerary

Day 01 :

Arrival to Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 02 :

Day 02 : Full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu valley that includes visit to the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath, Monkey Temple, the Swyambhunath (2000 years old Stupa) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar takes about 6 hours.
Day 04 : Trek from Besisahar to Bahundanda.
This day you walk through the deep river gorge, rice fields, subtropical forest and small hamlets, past a majestic waterfall with towering peaks of Himalchuli and Manaslu.
Day 05 : Trek from Bahundanda to Chamje:
A steep and slippery trail runs up and down through paddy fields, passing through tiny Tibetan villages, the trail ascends through the rhododendron forest to Chamje.
Day 06 : Trek from Chamje to Bagarchhap:
The path climbs the river through bamboo groves, you cross barely and potato fields to reach Dharapani and walk an hour to Bagarchhap site. You get to view Annapurna 2 and Lamjung Himal.
Day 07 : Trek from Bagarchhap to Chame:
The trail climbs along the mule track through pine and fir forest and then follows the river for a time amongs the higher oak and maple trees.
Day 08 : Trek from Chame to Pisang:
The trail follows through the river valley stay at pisang(3210m) with good views along the way of Pisang peak and Annapurna 2.
Day 09 : Trek from Pisang to Manang :
Walk through the fields of grazing Yak and a wide variety of crops. Manang is a large Tibetan settlement from where you can enjoy splendid views of Annapurna2, 3, 4, Gangapurna and Tarkekang.
Day 10 : Acclimatization at Manang :
Today you take a rest day to acclimatize your body for trekking the higher altitude. You explore the Manag monasteries, Gangapurna Lake and Manag village. In the evening you will get a briefing on High altitude sickness at Himalayan Rescue Association office.
Day 11 : Trek from Manang to ChuriLeder:
You move through alpine pastures to scrubby forests of juniper and rose.
Day 12 : Trek from ChuriLeder to Thorong Phedi :
You reach Thorong Phedi B.C walking along the river,
Day 13 : Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath Crossing Thorung La
You ascend steeply to high camp at 4590m then along an undulating trail to the flat top of Thorung La ( 5416m).From here the trail descends steeply down to Muktinath. This is one of the most important pilgrimage sights for Hindus. It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists.
Day 14 : Trek from Muktinath to Kagbeni:
You walk through the buckwhite field and popular groves, passing Kaligandaki valley
Day 15 : Trek from Kagbeni to Marpha:
Descend to Marpha which is a lovely village of white washed house and fertile fields as the trail continues, The Himlayan rain shadow ends here and open spaces make way for conifers forest.
Day 16 : Trek from Marpha to Ghasa:
Ghasa is a nice village with greenery and open space.
Day 17 : Trek from Ghasa to Tatopani:
You walk about 6 and half hours to Tatopani passing by subtropical vegetation. The trail follows the river through the world deepest gorge. You can take a dip at the hot spring in Tatopani which has great curative powers.
Day 18 : Trek from Tatopani to Sikha.
Day 19 : Trek from Sikha to Ghorepani.
Day 20 : Trek from Ghorepani to Tikhedunga:
Early morning climb up to Poonhill to cherish one of the best Himalayan view points in Nepal, that provides an unobstructed view of the high Himalayas.
Day 21 : Trek from Tikhedunga to Pokhara
Walk through the lush green valley of Modi river past the waterfalls with plunge pools that invite you to swim. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 22 : Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu . In the evening enjoy the cultural show and Nepali dinner. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 23 : Free day. In the evening enjoy the cultural show and Nepali dinner.Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 24 : Transfer to airport for final departure.
