Bungy Jumping in Nepal

 

Bungy jumping is the scariest thing you can do and the best feeling once you have done it. It is equally fun and terrifying . Nepal's first bungy jumping site is situated 100km far from Capital city, Kathmandu, over the Bhote Koshi River, and located close to the Nepal-Tibet border. The jump, at 160m, was designed by one of New Zealand's leading bungee consultants, and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in the business. It's mishap-proof. The agency takes safety "very, very seriously".

Location

Less than 3 hours outside Kathmandu by Ultimate Bungy Shuttle. You will travel the Arniko (Kathmandu/Lhasa) Highway to within 12km of the Tibet Border and the famous Friendship Bridge.

The Gorge

Ultimate Bungee Nepal takes place on a 166m wide steel suspension bridge over the Bhoti Kosi River.

About the Bridge

Swiss designed, especially for bungee jumping with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has a loading factor of 250kg per running meter. This means that the bridge will hold 250 x 166 = 41,500kg or 4.5 tones. And. Those are Swiss measurements! * Over 6000 meters of steel wire was used to build the bridge * Longest suspension bridge in Nepal * The bridge joins two sides of a great valley. Before its construction, locals walked five hours to cross this river gorge.

Accommodation at The Last Resort in Nepal is a natural affair. Our safari tents are comfortable and spacious. The deluxe two-person tents have a single and a double bed and a private garden area with deck chairs. Our four-person family tents have four single beds.

All tents have bedding and towels, a luggage rack and a rack to hang your cloths. Our toilet and shower buildings are never far away from your tent. We have solar showers with gas and electric back up to make sure you have a nice hot shower, even in winter and monsoon.
There is light in all the tents, buildings and along the pathways. We also provide each tent with a lantern to make sure you still have light during a local power cut. The main shower buildings have electric sockets for hair dryers and we have many electric sockets in the restaurant building to charge your camera batteries, mobile phones and other electric devices.
If you finished your books we have a small library in the restaurant and a DVD library in the BBQ area. Safe parking is provided for our guests and we also have a small shop that sells fair trade souvenirs and the popular The Last Resort t-shirts.
